Project Update

The Morrisville Community Library is set to open in summer of 2020 and is part of the library system's phased re-opening after COVID-19. The specific opening date is to be determined.

An overview of the project's development, visit Wake County's Project Webpage.

The project was presented to and endorsed by the Library Commission at its meeting on November 15, 2017. The project was also presented to the Town of Morrisville for its information on November 14, 2017. Construction of the project is anticipated to commence in fall of 2018, with a construction duration of approximately 13 months and a Grand Opening projected for summer of 2020.

The new library will be located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Town Hall Drive and a future extension of Carolina Street, where the Town of Morrisville has proposed a traffic roundabout. The library will be approximately 8,800 SF. It will house approximately 50,000 adult and children's books. It will also have regularly scheduled programs, 16 public computers, high-speed wireless internet, seating areas and other services.
