The road project was completed in June 2019. The Town of Morrisville's Public Works staff completed the roundabout landscaping work in Nov. 2019. Duke Energy completed the street light installation on Carolina St. Extension and on Foxglove Drive Extension in Nov. 2019.
This project is a key piece of the Town Center Core Demonstration project, which is currently in development. The proposed Town Center Core Demonstration project site includes the area between Town Hall Drive (west) and future Foxglove Drive (east), and Jeremiah Street (north) to Carolina Street extension (south). The demonstration project site concept includes a new Wake County Library, apartments, retail space and parking. The Wake County Library began in late 2018 and is scheduled to be open in the summer of 2020.
