Ever dream of becoming a Firefighter? Well now you can!
The Explorer Post Firefighter Program offers experimental learning with hands-on activities that promote growth and development of adolescent youths through the Boy Scouts Explorer Program. This is an opportunity for anyone between the ages of 15-18 who are in grades 9-12 to learn more about a career to become a Firefighter!
What YOU can expect is to learn all about life as a Firefighter! What we expect is DEDICATION!
The application process requires the following forms to be submitted prior to acceptance in the program.
Signed Parental Consent form
Emergency Contact form filled out
Copy of Birth Certificate
Current or Recent report card
Permission from High School Principal (Principal Permission Form)
Copy of vaccination records
Once the above documents have been assembled, please drop off the packet at Fire Station 1, located at 100 Town Hall Drive, Morrisville, NC 27560, Atten: Forrest Wills.
Membership requirements are:
- 2.0 or higher (C) average or better in all school courses
- Committed to attending and actively participating in the Explorer program for a minimum of 3 consecutive months.
- Parent(s) must attend orientation class
During the Explorer program, each person will be trained to use all of the Firefighter apparatus and gain insightful knowledge on how to be a team leader in life. Life skills that will be learned are:
First aid and CPR
Hazardous materials training
Class is held every Monday evening from 7-9 pm at Fire Station 1 located at 200 Town Hall Drive, Morrisville, NC 27560.
