Morrisville Closing Facilities to Public, Extending Cancelations Through April 30

Morrisville, NC  – In alignment with Wake County’s announcement of new restrictions to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Town of Morrisville will close all facilities to the public, effective Monday, March 23, at 5 p.m. They will remain closed through April 30. Residents are encouraged to conduct business with the Town electronically (website, phone or email).

While Morrisville’s facilities will close, the work of the Town government will not stop. The Town intends to continue to offer critical services such as police, fire, and curbside trash collection during the COVID-19 event. Development services (planning, inspections and engineering) are being provided remotely and in the field, using appropriate social distancing measures. 

Additionally, closures and cancelations previously announced on March 18 will be extended through April 30. Additional information will be forthcoming regarding Town Council meetings.

Town leaders will continue to monitor the situation in coordination with the Wake County Public Health Division, the lead agency for this event. The Town of Morrisville encourages the proactive use of the following simple precautionary measures to remain healthy:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly.
  • Don’t touch your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Stay away from sick people.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces using regular household cleaning spray or wipes.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue and throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Avoid public spaces unless absolutely necessary.
  • Practice social distancing when you do venture out, keeping at least six feet between you and others at all times.
