Statement on Town Council Member Jerry Windle Resignation
In a statement to Town Council during its May 13th meeting, Jerry Windle resigned his position as Morrisville Town Council Member, effective immediately.
“Jerry was elected in November 2017 to represent Morrisville District 2 for a four-year term through December 2021. I appreciate his passion for public schools and his hard work to bring exceptional local public-school choices to Morrisville. As a Navy veteran himself, Jerry has positively impacted awareness and fundraising for the Veterans Memorial Project of Morrisville,” said Morrisville Mayor TJ Cawley. “For two years, he’s been an insightful collaborator on major Town decisions regarding smart development, transportation and public transit, operating budget priorities and affordable housing."
State law provides guidance for filling the vacancy left by his resignation. Town Council will meet in the near future to discuss next steps in the process for the District 2 representative position.
