I was involved in a traffic accident. How can I get a copy of the report?
After an accident, attorneys and insurance companies may require a copy of the accident report. There is never a charge for this report. There are several ways to obtain a copy of the report: Fax a request with the case number and return fax number to: (919) 380-6717; or in person at the Morrisville Police Department at 260-C Town Hall Drive.
When I call 911, how does the dispatcher know where I live?
The 911 system is set up so that the address and telephone number of the caller is printed out on a screen as soon as the dispatcher answers the call. In the event that the caller hangs up prior to speaking with the dispatcher, the caller's information is still locked into the 911 system and is retrievable by the dispatcher. The Raleigh/Wake Communications dispatches all of the Town of Morrisville’s Fire/Police calls.
Occasionally, I see things that are suspicious or unusual. I don't know if I should call the Police or what would happen if I did. Can you tell me about the procedure?
At any given time there are Officers on the street, available to respond to calls for service. The Police Department counts on the citizens of Morrisville to be additional "eyes and ears" for the community and to alert us to unusual situations. Any time someone calls, a dispatcher will take the information, ask questions, decide what/whom to send, and assess the urgency of the call. Each call for service will be handled, though obviously the higher priority calls may be taken first. If you have an emergency, call 911. For non-emergency calls, please use (919) 829-1911.
I have caught a stray animal. Who do I call?
Wake County Animal Control handles any stray animal, rabid animal, or animal complaints regarding animals that may be a danger to the community. (919) 250-1475 The Morrisville Police is not equipped and does not handle animal complaints unless it is an emergency.
I am new to the area. Is there any information that I need to know?
