What does the Planning Department do?  All planners share numerous tasks to assist the public and the developers working within the Town of Morrisville. These include, but are not limited to: 

• Assist general public, developers and consultants with zoning and subdivision inquiries
• Review site plans, preliminary subdivision plats, construction plans, final plats to ensure compliance with all applicable state and local laws, the Town's zoning and subdivision ordinances, land use plan, transportation plan and greenway master plan
• Prepare reports for Planning & Zoning Board, the Board of Adjustment and Board of Commissioners
• Prepare site vicinity and GIS maps for the general public and Town Staff
• Review and approve building permits
• Perform site compliance inspections to certify the Town's zoning and subdivision ordinances are met
• Guide citizens through voluntary annexation process.
• Conducts Long-Range Planning and Cross-Jurisdictional Planning for the Town.
• Maintains Geographic Information System (GIS), Street Address, Street Name and Population Databases. 
• Assigns street addresses for new development within the Town's Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ)
• Staff Representative for the Community Appearance Committee, Planning and Zoning Board, and Board of Adjustment
• Enforces the Town of Morrisville's Zoning & Code Ordinances which involve receiving, inspecting and investigating complaints, determine property owner(s) or person(s) in violation.  
• Enforces the Zoning Sign Regulations, and maintains, reviews, and approves sign permit requests.
  

The mission of the Town of Morrisville Planning Department is to administer existing development policies and regulations in an efficient, effective and consistent manner and to provide recommendations to advisory boards and the Town Board that promote long range growth and development policies that will enhance the quality of life for residential and corporate citizens in a manner that recognizes our central location within the region.
