Morrisville is updating Its Land Use and Transportation Plans - Take the time to be involved your community!

As most people in Morrisville will tell you, transportation is one of the biggest issues facing our rapidly growing community. The Town is taking the time to address how the community wants to grow in the next 10-15 years, and where transportation improvements should occur. These plans will impact how you live, work, shop, and travel.

Join us for our first Public Workshop “Where Are We Now?” on Monday, October 29 at the Morrisville Outlet Mall, 1001 Airport Blvd.

5:30 pm Dinner
6:00 pm Presentation
6:30 pm Breakout Sessions
7:15 pm Share Breakout Session Info
7:45 pm Wrap Up & Good Night

We invite you to take time out of your busy schedules to come and have dinner, meet your neighbors, and plan with us during this workshop. If you can’t make it for dinner, please join us for the presentation and breakout sessions. It will be a great opportunity for us to get input from you, the public, on the things you already love about your community and what you would like to see in the future.

This isn’t going to be your typical planning meeting... we are going to have food, raffles, and fun. We will even have a kids’ corner. If you need transportation assistance, just call 463-6194 no later than Thursday, October 25th at 4:00 pm and we will make the arrangements.

If the public meeting does not provide enough food for your community planning soul, there will be many additional ways for citizens and interested groups to be involved in this process. Here are some examples of the various ways your voice can be heard:

Public Workshops: Three public workshops will be held to gather input and feedback on recommendations. An Open House will also be held immediately before the Planning Board Meeting the first time the Plan is presented.

Project Website: A project website will include an online forum, contact information, presentations, pictures, an events calendar, RSS Feed, surveys, agendas and minutes of meetings, and valuable links. www.townofmorrisville.org/planning/transportation.asp

Dedicated Phone Line (919.866.4471): The consultant will maintain a call line and messaging service. The messages left will be retrieved and distributed to the Town. Responses will be provided to those persons that state their contact information and the desire to receive a return call.

Focus Groups: The Town will work with the public to identify up to three segments of Morrisville population that may have special issues or are underserved by other communication outlets. Examples may include mobility impaired, senior citizens, transit users, ethnic/cultural communities, or the business community.

Direct Contact: Citizens are always invited to contact staff and appointed and elected officials directly to provide feedback and request information.

You can contact the Town of Morrisville Project Manager, Michele Hane, at 919-463-6165, mhane@ci.morrisville.nc.us, and at 100 Town Hall Drive.
