Annual Operating Budget Report
Recommended Budget FY2011
The Annual Budget establishes the parameters in which Town Operations must work within for the coming year. In response to these economic times, staff has worked to find ways to responsibly mitigate continued impacts by controlled spending, proposing no new personnel positions, no new capital improvements and projecting very conservatively future revenues while ensuring core services are delivered to community.
Town Council was presented the proposed annual Operating Budget on May 11, 2010 at its regular Briefing Session. Council directed staff on some final points at the recent June 8th meeting:
- reduce the proposed Vehicle Tax from $15.00 per vehicle per year to $10.00 per vehicle per year. Additional revenue created for fee increase will be dedicated to roadway repairs and maintenance matters.
- balance budget differential created by lowering Vehicle Tax Revenue with Unassigned Fund Balance appropriation
