Each year, the Town of Morrisville chooses a theme that focuses on a specific function or service we provide to our residents. We’re excited to announce 2013 as the "Year of Community!" Throughout the coming months, we’ll highlight all of the opportunities Morrisville’s staff and Council provides to give our residents a sense of community.
Town of Morrisville's staff and Council encourages the spirit of community among our residents through current programs and events. Community influences several of Town Council’s Priorities and Perspectives, such as “Provide an Environmentally Sensitive & Livable Community”, “Community Safety”, and Core Values like “Well Planned Community”; and Morrisville’s staff and Council recognize the importance of providing programs, events and resolutions that cultivate an identity and an attitude of fellowship.
We will also be hosting several special events and programs, incorporating our theme like the July 3rd Fireworks Display and the July 4th Pancake Breakfast, as well as the publication of the Unified Development Ordinance. There will also be several articles in upcoming Morrisville Connection newsletters giving residents the sense of community.
2012 was the "Year of Preparedness" to help prepare for life's unexpeted events, 2011 was the "Year of Healthy Living" to promote healthy whims into permanent habits, and 2010 was billed as the "Year of Transparency" to showcase the town’s efforts to give residents a clearer understanding of their local government.
