Collection
Yard Waste is collected twice each month on Wednesdays for every household, as follows:

Please have your yard waste items at the curb no later than 7:00 AM on your designated yard waste days.  Yard waste will not be collected on the fifth Wednesday of any month, when it occurs.

Items

Yard Waste must be handled correctly for ensured pick-up.  Do not place yard waste in your garbage can or any other type of can.  Bundle or bag yard waste as required and neatly place it at the curb. Acceptable items are as follows:

Leaves	Bagged - Biodegradable or Yard-Waste Specific Paper bags ONLY (No Clear or Solid Color Plastic Bags)
Grass Clippings	Bagged - Biodegradable or Yard-Waste Specific Paper bags ONLY (No Clear or Solid Color Plastic Bags)
Dead Plants*	Bagged - Biodegradable or Yard-Waste Specific Paper bags ONLY (No Clear or Solid Color Plastic Bags)   *Excess dirt must be removed.
Small Brush / Shrub Trimmings	Bagged - Biodegradable or Yard-Waste Specific Paper bags ONLY (No Clear or Solid Color Plastic Bags)
Large Brush / Shrub Trimmings	Cut down to less than 4' length, 10" diameter, and tied with string into bundles that are less than 4' length, 2' width, and do not exceed 50 pounds each
Tree Limbs	Cut down to less than 4' length, 10" diameter, and tied with string into bundles that are less than 4' length, 2' width, and do not exceed 50 pounds each
Cut Trees	Cut down to less than 4' length, 10" diameter, and tied with string into bundles that are less than 4' length, 2' width, and do not exceed 50 pounds each
Dirt, lumber or wood, bricks or blocks, containers, planters, or any inorganic materials	Not Collected

If you have a large amount of yard waste that you have bagged yourself, it is always a good idea to call and alert Waste Industries (Phone: 919.596.1363) as soon as possible so that they can be prepared to pick up a larger than normal amount or advise you as to space availability on their truck. Bundles and bags shall not exceed 20 in total per pick-up.

Remember that this is a residential service. If landscapers do yard work at your home, they are responsible for hauling away excessive amounts of yard waste generated.
