The Town Clerk's Office is frequently considered the information center of the government. As defined by the laws of this State, a Town Clerk’s primary functions are “Custodian of Records” and “Clerk to the Governing Board”. Appointed by the Town Council, the Town Clerk is a strong resource for all citizens. Other key functions are as follows:

- Prepares minutes and agendas for the Town Council
- Maintains all Public Records generated by Town Staff and the Town Council
- Preserves historical information (ie photos, Council actions, news articles, etc…)
- Holds the Town's Code of Ordinances (Click on Bookmarks in the Navigation Tabs under View when the Acrobat Document opens to make searching easier by using the Chapter links. The document size is 4.13MB)
- Conducts researches and surveys that provide informative materials to the governing body to gauge attitudes, opinions, and perceptions of selected internal and external groups
- Promotes customer understanding that enhances the quality of life for all citizens
